“Embracing My Midlife”

Thank you so much for visiting my new and improved blog, “Embracing My Midlife.” Thank you for your patience as I’ve taken some away from the old blog, “My Midlife.” That time away has allowed me to work on other projects in my life and I thank you for your patience in my return.

I’ll continue to share my life, challenges, dreams and education of this period in my life to benefit others. I pray I can encourage others through “Embracing My Midlife.”

So please check back to read more as I update with projects. Want to know as soon as I update? Send me an email at: monique.m.rogers@gmail.com

Enjoy!

Thirteen Years Ago

Life has a tendency to throw curve balls. But it is the way in which you play the rest of the game that matters.

Thirteen years ago I enjoyed an afternoon wedding in a castle. It was my wedding. I remembered having my marriage license signed for the adventure that was to begin.

Today I didn’t celebrate that event. But I remember it and know that I would not have grown into the woman I am today without having had gone down that road.

Since that day, I’ve had bigger battles in my life than marriage, or even divorce. I’ve wanted a man to guide me and be with me through those battles. God has been rock through it all. He has reminded me of how strong I can be, and have to be.

I do still believe in marriage. But I only pray that these such challenges make me into an even better wife, better life partner, and better mom to my future kids.

In the meantime, I look at this picture, a reminder that I haven’t lost myself, my soul, in the process. And that is a blessing in itself.

I’d love to hear from you on your thoughts about this post. Blessings to you in your journey.
